3. Can't people see through this scam?
It reminds me of the ad in a magazine years ago where someone simply said, "Send me $1" and didn't promise anything in return. I forget how many dollars he got, but it was quite a few.

Same with Newt, Palin, O'Donnell, Huckabee, etc. Running for president is a new job category.

But the reason so many names are being bruited about is because there's nobody leading the Republican party right now. It's worse than 1996, when they had to dig up BobDole to run. So, without anyone annointed by the pooh-bahs, everyone thinks they have a chance. I see pretty much a repeat of 2008 for the Republicans, who were finally reduced to running John McCain (who was up, then down, then out, then in, then out again, then back in, and finally became the nominee because everyone else ran out of money or interest). In that kind of desert, even mirages like Gingrich, Palin, Bloomberg and Trump merit a glance on the off chance that they're for real.
