9. Well it is too bad ...
... that there probably will not be a challenge from the center-left.

Because that means that Obama will only be tugged further to the right by his potential Repuglican opponent.

And, if Pres. Obama moves any further to the right .... well, it is just kind of depressing.

15. Yes a common citizen should always consider running for the Presidency if dissatisfied.
Regardless of education, occupation, life history, etc. Otherwise they should just STFU and learn to like what they are given...

18. No because no one is currently running against him in a primary. All these threads
are people just saying they like how Obama has performed or don't like how Obama has performed.

21. No credible, national Democratic candidate will primary Obama.
They want to help Obama get reelected, not cut him off at the knees before he faces the Rethug in the general.

22. well...
you might think considering there are a lot of progressives who are unhappy with Obama on a number of issues, that someone might emerge to primary him (is primary a verb?)...

but i will give you one very good reason why no sane Democrat (or even the slightly less sane) is going to do that.

while President Obama may appear as a peaceful person who welcomes dissenting opinions, from my own observation and his association with Rahm Emanuel, what has become obvious to me is that he is quite a ruthless politician. i think it is quite clear that he will seek to destroy any politician who dares to even discuss a primary challenge.

i will give you one example of this, although I am sure there are many more. During the last New York City mayoral election, Anthony Weiner criticized Obama for never raising a finger to help the Democratic candidate who was running against Michael Bloomberg. What followed was an attack on Weiner from Emanuel which was absolutely disgusting.

The message was clear. Don't you dare criticize this President or you will be met by a machine that will seek to destroy you.

President Obama has been very effective at consolidating all of the power of the Party behind him, and him alone. The entire Democratic Party machine is focused on him and his re-election.

The career of any Democrat who thinks, or talks, of a primary challenge to Obama will be ended very quickly.
