Megan Kelly : Here's What 'Fair and Balanced' Gets You
http://crooksandliars.com/karoli/maddow-vs-megyn-ftw

Rachel Maddow had a great segment last night where she called out embarrassing Republican moments. Of course, Alan Simpson was at the top of the segment, but the best moment in the whole thing was when she nailed Megyn Kelly for trolling on Twitter.

Go ahead. Watch the video. It's short and classic. It seems that Megyn Kelly trolled Twitter with this tease for her show yesterday morning:

Well, of course he could be right in that world where it's totally fine for men to beat women (regardless of size and weight) into a pulpy coma, right?

I join Rachel in wishing Megyn Kelly a happy International Women's Day. What a bizarre woman that Megyn is.

But wait, there's more. Rachel had a text poll to decide who was most embarrassing: Simpson with his Snoopy Snoop Poop Dog, Simpson with his reference to "enema", or Kelly.

Here are the results:

Edited on Wed Mar-09-11 11:56 AM by forty6
man or woman, DESERVE to be beaten into a coma !!!!!!

Whoever writes that shit on Fox, whoever SPEAKS that shit on the air on Fox, DESERVES not to be working on a cable "news" network in the USA or anywhere in the world. They DESERVE to be fired for implying anyone DESERVES to be beaten into a coma!

17. Huh?
Putting that 100 lb bully woman in a "comma",,, yep, that'll fix her.

Question for you. Walking down the street at night, are you afraid of a couple of women walking toward you? I bet you are not. (assuming you're a dood)

Women live with fear every day, fear of rape, fear of being assulted.

I hope that one day, women and girl children can just go about their diurnal business not in constant fear.

union member, baby killer, serial pedophile rapist, who wants to take our guns and parking spaces away. They are fair and balanced.

21. I fail to see how putting a human being into a coma, (a one hundred pound variety), ..is..
somehow EVER justified.

If they are carrying a gun/knife and shoot or stab you, then, by accident, it might be allowable under the law to injure someone so critically... but otherwise, under NO circumstances, should it be "appropriate", nor intentional.

24. Size is really not a determinate, behavior is, which makes it situational
- It is legally justified in just about all states to shoot a home invader, regardless of size.
- When someone is attacking you with a weapon, you are allowed to shoot them, regardless of size.
- If you are attacked by a gang, you can fight back with any and all weapons, regardless of size.
- My wife was of similar size and was quite capable of taking out just about anyone, regardless of size.

In the real world, size is rarely a factor is some one intends to be a threat. In the real world you can use a considerable force, including weapons to neutralize a threat. If you are under deadly threat, it is absolutely legal to injure them critically or kill them. That is why we teach double taps.

Hopefully you have lived a peaceful life and have never had to face a deadly confrontation or been physically attacked personally. Those of use who have not had that luxury understandably have a little broader perspective on who can be a credible threat and what can be done in self defense.

5. One helluva a debate on the story here on DU
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x580425

Some here are arguing that she might have deserved to be hit back. Suspect claims he reacted to her hitting him first.

9. The facts are still in dispute.
Some witnesses apparently say he hit first. If that's true there's no excuse and he should go to jail.

And yes, that does make all the difference.

8. Megyn Kelly is an embarrassment to journalism
You can see her sneer every time a liberal does something that goes against the FauxNews style of propagandist thinking. Just another Murdoch todie!!

11. Man beats Megyn Kelly into coma for stupid segment, could he be right?
Edited on Wed Mar-09-11 01:17 PM by Motown_Johnny
NO!!!

Violence is not an acceptable response. The idea that people are willing to discuss the possibility that it maybe is insane.

Edit for spelling, Megyn with a y.

I am always amazed at how much the RWing supports woman punching/wife beating/domestic violence, even glamorizes it! What a sick fucking bunch Foxnews critters be.

14. the law should make NO distinction between punching a woman or punching a man
Edited on Wed Mar-09-11 01:36 PM by speltwon
and it doesn't. Domestic violence laws, fwiw (and this is not a DV case... since they weren't domestically attached (roommates, former roommates, former significant dating relationship, child in common, relative w/in the bounds of consanguinity) don't take gender into account. The "Violence Against Women Act" provisions apply to men, too if they are victims.

It's a little bit irksome to see sexist comments that differentiate between a man hitting a woman in a dispute or a man. Equality means equality. Her size is relevant. Her gender should not be.

Granted one of my best friends is a woman who happens to be an accomplished MMA fighter. She isn't quite Cyborg level, but she's a bad ass.
