Top UK businessmen among 9 arrested in bank probe
LONDON – Police have arrested nine people, including two of Britain's wealthiest entrepreneurs, on suspicion of fraud in connection with the 2008 collapse of Iceland's Kaupthing bank during the global financial crisis.

Britain's Serious Fraud Office said seven men aged between 42 and 54 were held in raids on two businesses and eight homes in London. The properties were being searched and the suspects questioned at police stations in the city. Two men, aged 42 and 43, were arrested in the Icelandic capital, Reykjavik.

Prosecutors have already made several arrests in Iceland as they investigate suspected market manipulation and fraud in the run-up to the banking crash.

You know this does help confidence in a bullshit system
but the US is unwilling to even try to arrest anyone except
a Martha Stewart and minor players that are not IN THE BANKING SYSTEM.

As did the UK.

the academy award....... It also illustrates how little has changed in the American financial world, despite Obama's rhetoric. Rather than being held accountable for their role in the collapse, many of its architects remain in key positions of power. He goes from Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush and Obama.
And each of them have kept these criminals in control of the system.

As Ferguson the maker of the film notes,

Wall Street has returned to normal with no federal prosecutions against any of the guilty. And one of the most poignant scenes in the film comes from Robert Gnaizda, the former head of the Greenlining Institute, a consumer lobbyist group who laughingly dismisses recent legislation to regulate banks with a simple 'Hah'.
