Remember, despite events in WI, we have battles all over - PA's asswipe Gov for example.
His "budget" hands his corporate sponsors more than they probably even dreamed for while slashing education by 10% (with less being cut from GOP strong-holds like Camp Hill). State workers are getting the shaft as well. But hey, foreign companies (his sponsors) that want to trash our environment to extract tax-free (only state in the country) gas by fracking everything up are getting the loaves and the fishes.

We can't let up. Asswipes like Corbett are going to try to use the smokescreen of WI to sneak whatever kind of bullshit they can under the radar. How about that crap in MI that allows the Gov. to dissolve municipalities or school districts because he has indigestion or something and put one person in charge of making the decisions for the "former" entity? We have to keep up the fight.

1. Corbett will push for vouchers for private schools
and is blathering about "tort reform" to create a business-friendly environment.

We wouldn't want those carpetbagging gas drillers to get sued for all of the pollutants they are dumping into our environment, or for killing or maiming people when their wells explode, would we? That would be downright unfriendly.

Westboro Baptist loons may want to move to PA and open a school so they can get get voucher money.

PA is open for corruption business!

2. It isn't just about religious schools (real or otherwise) - rich districts like Camp Hill will gain.
Camp Hill is all for vouchers, and not just because it is almost exclusively Republican. They've got extra capacity (gentrification) and would be HAPPY to accept "underprivileged students" from Harrisburg, throw them in an isolated part of the building where they won't influence the "good kids", and suck whatever money they can out of the Harrisburg school district for what amounts to babysitting. Either way, there's no accountability for the money they suck out of the less-fortunate districts. One of the Democratic senators proposed requiring districts to list the exact amount that had been lost because of vouchers on the property tax bills and the GOP trounced that amendment. Can't have people knowing how much they're getting fucked by the Republicans, can we now?

3. As the parent of a child with autism
I know vouchers would enable private schools to cherry pick the kids they accept leaving the kids who are the most expensive to educate in a cash-strapped public school.

Sadly, there are parents of kids with severe disabilities who voted for Corbett and his gang of thieves. They are now trying to convince themselves that the budget isn't so bad. It's beyond sad.
