Angry at the president for not being there? Fine.

Angry at the votes for not turning out? Fine.

But the perpetrators of this mess? The ones who deserve public scorn, villification, recall and to not have a single peaceful day for the remainder of their time in office are Walker and the assholes who betrayed the state constitution and the will of the people to do this shitastic deed.

Fuck them. Fuck them all.

1. Agree 100%
Asking why people aren't there will not get them there.

Charging forward with focused energy will.

2. A lot of people here unintentionally let Republicans off the hook for things
because it's so much easier to blame Obama et al.

5. How is it easier to blame Obama?
Edited on Thu Mar-10-11 01:18 PM by tridim
That doesn't make sense

It's always easier to blame the party that is responsible, that's just common sense. Blaming the wrong party (or person, or thing) is just plain stupid.

I guess what I'm driving at is that it IS intentional when people on DU let the GOP off the hook and blame Obama. If it were isolated and rare that wouldn't be the case, but it happens thousands of times every day here.

12. False premise. The Rethugs are making good on their promises
and fighting for their pathological platform. Obama is flipping his constituents the bird. The silent approval from Democratic leadership is why they don't get a free pass. They're enablers, and deserve blame.

14. Obama isn't flipping me the bird.
And I'm certainly one of his constituents.

What the fuck are you talking about? He has supported labor 100% his entire life.

8. I believe that is a sophomoric point of view.

Nobody is letting the republicans off the hook unless they are paid apologists intent on disruption.

We do expect more from the leader of our party: the Democratic party.

A lot of people here unintentionally let the Democrats off the hook for things that could be fought for and won or fought for and lost: just as long as they are fought for.

6. No one is letting Walker, Koch, Republicans "off the hook."
There's more than one political conversation to be had here about all of it.

11. It would just be nice to see us come together with a singular focus
for this one.

Let the leaders follow us for a change.

7. Yes, I'm not happy with those who could not be bothered to vote. They share in this blame.
No, they didn't cause it, but their not being motivated enough to vote when Republicans managed to get their asses out there did nothing to help the current situation.

Oh yeah, I actually live in these Wisconsin lands and last November I got out there and voted for the Democrat Tom Barrett for governor even if I was not motivated or if I was in a snit over Obama because it was the right thing to do. If just 25% of those who voted for Obama but couldn't be bothered to vote in the gubernatorial election here had voted for Barrett, then Walker would never have won and we wouldn't be having this discussion.

But please, explain it away. After all, I just live here so what do I know.

13. You have it so right.
Not in WI but stuck with an idiot congress-critter that is to the right of the tea party. The Dem wasn't much better but would of helped keep the House Dem control. He would of learned to mellow out. Took use years to mellow out the last guy.
