Regarding Obama and the Wisconsin protest
I am not sure if many recall President Obama saying something to the financial executives who were complaining to him regarding the TARP rules.....at least I think it was that - anyhow, Obama told them, "Remember - I am the guy standing between you and the pitchforks."

Do any of you remember that?

I know there are many who want President Obama to take a trip to Wisconsin and stand with the workers, and many recall him stating he would get on his comfortable shoes and walk the picket line.

I have something to consider regarding this and why President Obama has not put on his comfy shoes, and why he blasted the DNC.......

HE WANTS WALKER TO BEG.

That is right. He wants Walker to BEG for help. And it is up to Wisconsonites to shut everything down. That is their job. General Strike!

3. LOL. What makes you think the unions will listen to Obama at that point??
First of all Walker would never ask Obama for anything, let alone beg. He's more likely to turn the Nat'l Guard against his own people.

And what makes you think the workers and unions will listen to Obama? He refuses to get involved and thusly will have no say as to when the strikes begin or end. he's rendered himself completely irrelevant. And frankly I find him to be part of the problem.

17. The Unions
think the president has done just the right thing. That was stated by the president of the SEIU. But I guess she wouldn't know anything about what Unions need, eh?

5. I'm torn by your post
On the one hand, I agree. General Strike. Shut the fuckers down.

On the other hand, I am mystified by the continued drive to cast everything Obama does in a wash of golden light. He's not a damn ultra-intelligent, supremely logical Vulcan from a fantasy TV show, he doesn't play infinite levels of grand-master political chess, and quite frankly, he's screwing up.

So yeah, I'm torn...

18. He's only 'screwing up' if he's not obtaining the desired outcome.
That is to say, his desired outcome may differ significantly from your desired outcome. Things may be going just the way he wants them to.

13. Oh, come on. He is not that mean or vindictive.
There have been AMPLE opportunities to make the conservatives/GOP beg, none have been taken.

14. Tortured Logic
Your need, above all other considerations, to cast the President in the best possible light has led you to some utterly tortured logic on this one. Sorry.

15. A message from President Obama
From Twitter...

PressSec: POTUS says we must come together & set aside partisanship to fix our budgets. Actions last night in #Wisconsin violate those principles.

It is pretty far fetched. Mostly because I really really really want Walker to beg for help....

You guys straightened me out.

Thx.

21. And when Walker begs, Obama will be right there to help him.

Obama is not with the unions. The bit about the "comfy shoes" was all talk.
