Whatever you believe is the best reaction Obama could have toward Wisconsin

It is a bit strange that he quite willingly reaches out to despicable figures on the right in dealing with controversial issues, yet never reaches out to the left, whatever the contentious issue at hand. Jeb, Warren, Simpson--are there balancing examples of leftist luminaries elevated by Obama for crucial policy debates? Does it happen with anything approaching the same consistency? What do you think he believes is the value of this behavior, and why do you suppose the GOP could not be more opposite in its actions compared to the president's?

We lost the battle. Now all we can do is file suits and shoot for recalls and demand to be heard.

Maybe if Obama had thrown some more of this amazing influence, people keep telling me he has, behind the people, we might have had a bit more press, a bit more support, a bit more of a chance.

Funny, one Obama supporter told me today that Obama is the only man who can help us. Well I don't see any fucking help at all. A half assed comment at a press conference is not "support".

What we needed was coverage. Half the goddamn country doesn't even know there are protests going on. The international press is covering this more than the MSM. Some schmoe in Guam knows more about Madison than half this nation.

Obama should have gotten his ass to Wisconsin dragging the White House Press Corps behind him, and made this a national issue. All it would have taken was one day, he could have lightened the mood with a plastic palm tree and held a press conference to make his stand and what should have been the stand of the Democratic party known to the WORLD.

I hear many people saying it would have been a disaster for Obama's re-election. That may well be true, but IMHO the future rights of American workers trumps one mans political ambitions.


I have no doubt we are going to win. But the fact is if you truly support Obama and want him re-elected then you might want to reconsider your position. Because if the people do this without any support from the Democratic big wigs then there really is no reason to vote for them is there. Why bother to vote for someone who is more concerned about being re-elected than he is about the people he was elected to serve?

to solve state budget problems and recognize this is a revolution of the working class, the majority of Americans. Sure we don't own 90% of the economy, but that's because of the stoking of Wall Street by Washington for the last thirty years and he's the latest part of this favoritism. It's time for him to become the President of the people not of the Fortune 500.
