Congressional Honeymoon Is Over As Approval Starts Dropping.
Haven't seen this little tidbit posted yet. Gallup is showing that the Congressional Approval rating is on the drop once again as it hits 18%, a 5% drop over a one month period.

The surprise is that the biggest drop came from Independents who now approve of Congress less than Democrats which, one can only assume, is due to the Senate remaining in the hands of the Democrats.

1. Seems like a metric of polarization.
Independents lose interest when Republicans put busting unions in front of cutting government spending. The triumph of ideology leads to approval from the base, but not people who don't care much for ideology, they just want to see work get done.

2. Difficult to know what this poll means.
I'd prefer to see more depth...disapproval of Congress is too ambiguous and not really informative. A more meaningful poll would be to ask about approval by political party and Chamber with respondents broken down by political affiliation.

3. That poll shows they never had a honeymoon
A bump in approval from 13% to 23% is hardly a honeymoon.
