It's the history lesson one Missouri teacher hoped she would never have to cover.

St. Louis science teacher Tera Myers stepped down Friday after a student confronted her about her past working as an actress in X-rated films.

The 38-year-old Parkway North High School educator -- who starred in pornographic videos in the 1990s under the name Rikki Andersin -- has been placed on administrative leave, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.This isn't the first time that Myers' X-rated exploits have interfered with her career as a teacher.

In 2006, Myers came under fire for her adult film past in Kentucky, where she was teaching at Reidland High School under the name Tericka Dye.

Frankly we would be far better off with more sex and less guns.

RIghtly or wrongly (and I believe it's wrong) this teacher is being punished not for shortcomings or misdeeds in her current job, but for a stupid decision she made as a young woman.

Apparently that is how the student in her second school found out about it.

Legal name changes are not that expensive...she should have it done, get her records updated and be done with it.

She needs some "forgiving God" lessons from Newt.

She was big in to anal and a half dozen or so of her videos are being sold on one DVD. She doesn't own the rights to them and I'm sure that the various notoriety that it has gotten gets it sold (though strangely no one has put it online that I saw last I checked; yeah I looked, sue me).

Sorry she's about to lose her job, but I'm pretty sure most parents of her students don't want her teaching them at this point. Sometimes when you open a door, you close a few others.

Not sure about this time, they appear more, well, "that's what you get" about it.

Odd that no one cares how good a teacher she is, despite constant bitching about lack of qualified teachers in STEM fields.

who stars in XXX porn videos is not mentally healthy. It's abnormal behavior and means the person has fairly substantial psychiatric issues--personality disorder, substance abuse problems, etc.

I don't think it's prudish in the least for parents to object to such a person teaching their kids, especially when the kids could potentially go online and watch their teacher in extremely explicit sexual situations. This is just MY OPINION, however.

No personality disorders, zero substance abuse (I'm completely straightedge and neither drink nor smoke and refuse to even be in the presence of weed or other drugs) and the only "psychiatric issue" I have is nervousness in crowds. No daddy issues (or mommy issues for that matter) and no instability of any kind.

I did some naughty things in front of a camera with someone and an ex thought she'd have a laugh by putting it online. She overestimated my ability to be ashamed of myself -- didn't bother me in the least. If someone wanted to pay me to do what I already do for free I'd take their money in a heartbeat.
