Hey ReTHUGS and Freepers
We have governments because disasters like earthquakes and tsunamis happen.
Contemplate this disaster without a government, then go Cheney yourselves.

5. that is correct
And if I remember right, we turned down help from other countries and people were standing on rooftops and were not attended to at all. Elderly and disabled folks were left to die in two-bit nursing homes.

Who are we to compare this disaster to Katrina one might ask. Well the way I see it, it shows how two very different governments deal with a bona fide disaster. In the case of the USA, it was beyond contempt. In Japan, they are trying to deal with it best they can and have not turned down needed help.

Who was saving face? The United States during Katrina dare I suggest?

6. In addition,

people in Japan are helping each other. They're sharing meager resources with neighbors, etc. (Not to say ordinary people here don't do that here also.) Looting is inconceivable in their culture. Rethugs would be plotting how to profit.
