And I've been part of that insanity for almost ten years.

55. I actually found sanity when I landed here!
I was out in the Bush/Cheney wilderness on my own (well, with some 3-D friends) before discovering DU. My best friend died in 2006 -- it's no accident that I joined in 2006 when I lost the person with whom I discussed politics for hours every week. So this place was an outlet for my outrage and a place I could be with like-minded people and a place I could numb out and not think about my wonderful friend no longer being here.

So, as insane as it is, it still provides a saner place than so much of the rest of the world these days!
