2 horrible disasters

Watching video of the tsunami is horrifyingly sad. Many many people had nowhere to go and knew they had only minutes to live. I almost feel guilty sitting here safe while writing this.

The other horrible disaster is hearing some of the comments from freepers. There is no other word to call them but monsters. How can a human watch that disaster unfold and display contempt and vengeance?

And lastly, these same monsters, baggers and conservatives and libertarians, have incredible power in American politics.

1. I think I know what you're getting at but

honestly the repugnant comments from freeper types (and others: is anyone going to claim 50-cent is a freeper?) are not a disaster and neither are they monsters. We use that word when all too human behavior makes us profoundly uncomfortable or sad or horrified.
