A 30-foot tsunami sweeps up a narrow valley, flattening the fishing port of Minamisanriku on the east coast of Japan.

The port of Minamisanriku, in Iwate prefecture, was wiped from the map by the tsunami unleashed by Friday's 9.0 magnitude
earthquake.

People on higher ground watch in horror as the giant wall of water and debris engulfs the homes below, wiping the town of
17,000 people off the map.
