A funny thing happened at the traffic light (again!)
Yesterday I posted about my wonderful stoplight experience. Well believe it or not DU, today it happened again. Twice in two days - I am floored! While there were no freebies today, a young woman pulled up next to me, motioned for me to roll down my window, then told me that she loved my bumper stickers. She turned right before I could manage to grab one of the spares from last night, but once again I have been addressed at random in my conservative county by another person who appreciated the messages at random.

This is a sign of bigger things, people. The GOP has upset a lot of people these past few months and the eyes of many are being opened. I caught the back of her car as she went, there nothing on it to signify a political opinion herself so it leaves me with questions. Was she a hardcore liberal like some of us here at DU or someone who has just had enough? There obviously is no way of knowing, however there are many who have not had an opinion before who are forming one now. Even my husbands ultra evangelical conservative Idahoan parents are starting to shuffle their feet nervously ("We'd never vote for that Palin woman", his mother told us the other day). Certainly the more brazen displays of support at least are a huge change for a county that had several thousand signed up for the 9/12 rally just a few months ago (compared to other counties which were in the hundreds).

I believe we're reaching the masses, finally. It's horrible that it took such gestapo tactics on the part of the right to achieve this, but the eyes of the nation may well be opening. Let's not give up now! Go Dems!

3. If you had told me even yesterday afternoon that this was going to happen
I would have laughed in your face! I am truly humbled by how lucky these past two days have been for me. I've been very down and gloomy about the outlook for the future of our nation, but I'm most certainly on the up and up now!

5. Great news, and hope electorate remembers what we're learning now
long enough to have effect on elections.
Just saw Pelosi, briefly, on Lawrence Show, and recalled how much I want her to return to her position in the House.

6. When I was doorknocking in October, the only people
who stopped me, either by pulling over to talk to me or walking up to me, were Republicans. I told people then, that I thought this was a bad sign for us. It was the "enthusiasm" gap.

So I agree with you. This bodes well for the Democrats! Thank you for sharing.

7. Another good story. They are out there, sympathetic people.
But sometimes people who don't hold strong opinions just like to go along with someone else and agree. For the social factor of it. Tomorrow she may be following along with some right wing wacko theory.
But Barack Obama did receive far more votes than that other guy, so there is more than half the voters out there, somewhere.
