5. main info, there were high readings on site around 10 am, they evacuated the workers.
Edited on Tue Mar-15-11 10:25 PM by Hannah Bell
the levels have gone down & workers are going back.

edano apparently used millisievert instead of micro sievert & scared people.

a correction was just made by the japanese security agency.

still waiting to get the actual readings slow enough to type them & be sure they're correct.

now new q&a

q - so edano's report was wrong?

a-

q - so radiation leakage is coming from 2nd reactor and 3rd is the smoke?

a - yes. pressure has increased in #2 that's why radiation leak. smoke coming from no. 3. we don't know why pressure increased in no. 2 so we are checking.

q- so supply chamber is damaged?

a - no, we don't know, we are just suspecting.

q - pressure is lowering in reactor 2?

a - we are checking, we don't know. according to tepco the radiation leaking may be coming from 2, thats what tepco said. i'm sorry, we will check.

q - so this is really critical to know about 3

a - as edano said, if we start talking about possibility, anything is possible. we don't have confirmation.

q - about 4th reactor. - there's 2 holes, meter long. it looks like the damage of 4th is severer than first, what do you think?

a - we were told there were 2 8 meter holes.

q - is it just a hole

a - this is the picture provided by tepco, the one in the back is the 4th rector, that's where the hole is

*** now there's a pre-earthquake warning - east of ibaraki....

2. I can't stream
Edited on Tue Mar-15-11 10:39 PM by necso
(computer too slow); but some clarification seems called for.

Personnel completely leaving the site could, um, harm efforts to cool fuel, etc.

...

Perhaps all radiation readings should standardly be reported in microsieverts.

7. More precisely,
Edited on Tue Mar-15-11 11:29 PM by necso
streaming often doesn't work well on my computer, when it works at all; it tends to hang up my computer/browser, slow other things down to the point where they're unusable, stop and start, etc.

So I typically avoid actual streams; start static videos, then hit pause and play the video when completely loaded; and otherwise try to keep load down.

(Just so my previous shorthand for this circumstances isn't interpreted too literally.)

3. the commenter is going over the q & a to clarify since the translation was
because gas, kerosene, etc is lacking up in tohoko, we must carry surplus to tohoko, please other people, don't hoard.

we're asking for help from allies, but we must prioritize. please cooperate.

nuke plants:

as of this morning, what he'd said was:

no 3 had white smoke in air, experts still analysing cause, also analyzing if this is related to other reactors.

drastic changes happening every minute,

several thousand mSv was measured last night but now down to several (hundred?) at main gate

no 2: some h-smoke may have come from reactor, but this may not have been the source

experts need to find out if water system is running right, government will determine next step when they have the facts.

then there was Q/A from journalists

white smoke but no evidence of explosion (no blast)

part of rcv might be blowin some steam off but this is only speculation -- it could have come from somewhere near

q - what radiation data would prompt more evacuation

a - if this spikes & goes down, no change

q - update unit 4

a - regarding used fuel pool, were preparing to pour water, may be delay due to am fire

q -

a - that's what we trying prevent,

q - so pouring water from chopper, is it going to be later - boric acid?

a - it depends on pool situation - we're analyzing it should be gradual instead of all at once for safety

q - any improvement with tepco data

a - even before that all info has come in smoothly - in case of change of data they tell us, both sides are well updated

q - journalist, frustrated - tepco has been confusing us, they say criticality cannot be ruled out

a - to say 'no possibiity' is impossible.

q - tell us about water levels in 1-3

a - actual data has to come from tepco

q - tell us the situation -

a - we are depressurising now, as we have been doing, there are no actual leakages as far as we're concerned

q - unit 4/

a - we're in the process of pouring water, that's all we can say...

q - even tepco can't go near the premises, how you gonna do it

a - other nations offering help, pump trucks, we will coordinate

q - are they gonna pour boric acid from top

a - they're going to decide about risk, for helicopters to work from air = second step

q -

well, i missed a bunch because bill gates decided that was the perfect time to take over my computer....

4. now japanese security
we gave order to evacuate site at 10 but people go there to collect data

incorrect information earlier per nihon security council, reading was 2.9 millisievert

at this point we only know that probably it's the third reactor

the radiation level could be from the second reactor we know there might be damage to/in separation chamber

i'm sure there will be a correction from the chief cabinet secretary

6000?

at 10:20 2096 micro sievert

1030 2036 microsv

1045 2.3 millisv

1055 2.9 millisv

3.391 msv

(basically there was a high reading & it's come down, i couldn't get all the info & hopefully he'll go over it again, not sure what i typed is right

o.88 pascal for the pressure

it's been stable, but we don't know further data

numbers again

1130: the level has gone down, site evacuation was lifted and workers are going back to the site.
