Teapublicans are swell people. They are just like us except they have different solutions to our

nation's problems. Like us, they just want what is best for the American people.

If that didn't trigger your gag reflex, you no longer have one. So, why do so many here want to pretend that those statements are true?

While I understand that it is unfair and inaccurate to paint the entire GOP with the same brush, too damn many of them are---just plain old-fashioned "bad people". We have our share of greedy unprincipled SOB's, but extremist conservatives make us look like a Sunday school class.

They are power-hungry, unprincipled and, for the most part, lack even a vestigial sense of shame. One does not negotiate with such people. One does not respect them or trust them or turn one's back on them. Responsible people do their best to avoid these unAmerican corporate whores. If they cannot be avoided, they must be confronted, not just met. Clear lines should be drawn and heavy penalties should be the result of even the slightest trespass across them.

Behaving as though those who have sworn to destroy us are "just folks" is not just foolish. It amounts to collaboration and such ignorance should not be tolerated.

I suspect that some will see this post as further evidence of my lack of intelligence, sophistication or understanding of the "true nature" of politics. You may have a point, but I believe that some on the other side see pragmatism as weakness if that is all they think you've got. They respect smash-mouth and I think it's time we showed them some.
