Sen. Mark Warner Needs to Hear from REAL Democrats...No Social Security Cuts

SOC SEC WARS... Democrats are divided over how aggressively to defend Social Security. Durbin, who is part of a group of six senators working to turn a bipartisan deficit-committee report last year into legislation, has taken Social Security “off the table” in that effort, Democratic senators said on Tuesday. And a group of liberal Democrats is proposing a bill to require two-thirds support in both the House and Senate for major changes to the program. However, Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., who is also part of the group of six, wants to keep Social Security on the table. “Some of this is just math,” Warner said on Tuesday. “The question is how do you ensure solvency for 75 years. The idea that we would punt on this and then face a 22 percent across-the-board cut and continuing decline is just unacceptable.”

He is no doubt troubled with the deceptive accounting practices that allowed corrupt politicians to misappropriate SS funds and spend them to enhance their own power.

I have no idea what is being proposed, but I do know that nothing they do will matter unless repealing the unified budget act is part of the plan.
