6. I'm gonna get flamed for this but
Frankly, I'm not thrilled with the idea that the construction of new homes is a measure of our financial success. Is this all America makes anymore? More houses and weapons?

I would be much happier if we started to concentrate on the importance of manufacturing the materials and equipment for sustainable energy production. This is the direction I wish America would take.

7. it's a symptom...
as more and more families find financial stability the natural inclination is to leave the 40 year old apartment building with the rats and the smell and move into a tidy new cookie cutter suburbia 3+2.

The LACK of people looking for that cute new house means more people are more concerned about food and health needs.

That's bad.
