A man waving a tea party flag was arrested in Houston, Texas after he charged the microphone at a Democratic rally.

This video is from CBS News, broadcast March 16, 2011.

A Houston man said a scuffle broke out after an unidentified man carrying an umbrella and a video camera moved toward the podium during one of the speeches.

"He kept advancing step by step, until he was right in his face," said Dan Joyce. Joyce said he supports the 400-500 people who attended the rally.

The man took a swing when Harris County AFL-CIO president E. Dale Wortham came toward him, Joyce said.

"He landed a punch," Joyce said. "Mr. Wortham did not retaliate."

1. I couldn't get the vid to play for me, but.......
I guess I knew this was coming at some time. I've been on alert at our rallies the whole time, but there haven't been enough Teabaggers out to even matter here in Tennessee.

2. This was clearly a pacifist liberal posing as a Teabagger in order
to discredit the otherwise rationale and compassionate movement that is the Tea Party.

3. Should I hold my breath?
I recall how eager the popular media were to haul out the broad brush to paint every demonstrator in Madison, Columbus and Lansing as some kind of violent whacko, intent on using violence to get their way. They were almost disappointed when no such violence was actually forthcoming, and they couldn't make a credible case for the millions of dollars in damage to the marble at the Wisconsin Capitol. Well, here's some pretty good footage of how a self-identified Tea Bagger resorts to violence when he doesn't get his way (note, as well, the restrained response from the man's victims and the woman on the periphery signaling the crowd to remain calm). Should I hold my breath waiting for the wall-to-wall coverage and blanket characterization of all the Tea Baggers as violent nuts?

Probably not.

6. But...the Scotch tape!
Don't you know how many trillions of dollars worth of damage they caused by taping flyers to the walls in the State Capitol? Yes, Fox News actually was that desperate.

16. Almost???
No, they were disappointed when the left didn't get violent as they were hoping for.

And as for your question, no you shouldn't hold your breath. If anything the other teabaggers will say this asshole was a lone wolf who went off the deep end. Like they ALWAYS do anytime one of their stupid little minions either attempts or commits some form of violence.

4. It's a good thing that Dale didn't retaliate.
I've known him for twenty years. He's a pretty big guy who's not afraid of a fight.

8. What's a "Tea Party flag"? I didn't even know they had a nation.
"I pledge allegiance
to the 'bag,
and to the Derpublic
for which it stands,
against taxation,
with ignorance and venom
for all."

suggestively,
Bright

19. Much like domestic terrorist is not REALLY a terrorist in the media?
You're right. So glad to hear Mr. Wortham remained peaceful and committed to speak his mind as is his right.
