They take lobby $$$, lie like crazy and always cover their own asses!

Many DUers are 100% opposed to nuclear power and always have been. Most do so because they have read about the dangers and evaluated the risks, before concluding that they outweighed the benefits. Many offered safer alternatives, but they were ignored. Those who played with poison did not even hesitate in spite of the opposition who did not wish to assume such a risk. They were mad scientists, and they will be seen as ignorant monsters someday.

I think we should all make a pact that if we are ever in a catastrophic situation (a nuke disaster, a sinking ship, a tsunami, volcanic lava flow...whatever) that we will absolutely force all GOP politicians in our districts to get in line, not cut ahead, nor save their sorry asses first. ESPECIALLY the politicians who promote environmental policies that endanger their constituents. No crossing the restricted areas in limos to get to safety. No free passage to the arks. No special cave to hide in to run their shadow government. No mineshaft with 8 to 1 ratio of females to males. Screw that. Instead, let them face their insane scary armed petrified Teabagger base to hold town halls and beg everyone to be calm. No escape GOP nutcases. You go down just like the rest of us, except in your case you also get more of the blame for having chosen your poison.
