I'm an alcoholic, and I fell off the wagon hard last night. Apologies if I posted anything
really stupid or offensive, as I don't really remember.

In other news, how are those reactors in Japan doing today? Have they magically fixed themselves?

2. the tone and tenor of reporting has changed a bit...
as Libya and Middle East are getting some reporting today. Ironically, I'm not sure the change in reporting means there is good news on that score or whether this is some orchestrated attempt to tamp down concern. :shrug:

On a serious answer, the head of the International Atomic is traveling to Japan to have a heart to heart with the head of the Japanenee regulatiory agency... and yes, the very "honest" people at TEPCO. Translation... they don't trust them any more.

Drinking doesn't help, I know that, but last night I guess I didn't care.

Are you looking for people to tell you that it's OK that you fell off the wagon? Then you should do it directly and honestly. Everybody has setbacks, but through it all, try to be straightforward with yourself and others. Best of luck to you. :hug: Today is a new day.

All you do is go to 'My DU' and see what you posted if anything. You could see if any of them were "really stupid or offensive". But I'm sure you know how to do that so why the question?

As long as it is not a personal attack the posts remain. There are tons of stupid and offensive posts on DU daily (I'm sure some would say some of mine are in that category) and they remain.

He goes to take a piss and notices there are two rings--one red and one brown--around the base of his penis.

He is concerned so he visits the doctor to have some tests run.

When the results come back, the doctor calls and says there is good news and there is bad news.

The good news is that the red ring is lipstick. The bad news is that the brown ring is Skoal.

To my late Irish Grandad. He had an attack of some sort, and was placed in a hospital ward with three other men.
One was an alcoholic and having an spell of the DTs.
Instead of pink elephants, the man with the DTs was seeing black cats.
"Black cats!" he kept complaining. "Something ought to be done! This place is overrun with black cats!"
Another patient spoke up. "There are no black cats in here."
"Yeah?" said the alcoholic. "If you were not so lazy you'd sit up and look at them!"
So be more careful, and watch out for those black cats.
