EPA deploys more radiation monitors to the West Coast

As public concern grows about radiation from Japan possibly drifting to the West Coast of the United States, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Tuesday announced that it will deploy more electronic monitors that measure radiation levels in the air.

The monitors, which detect gamma radiation and radioactive particles, will be set up in "parts of the Western U.S. and U.S. territories," the agency said in a statement.

EPA officials, however, refused to answer questions or make staff members available to explain the exact location and number of monitors, or the levels of radiation, if any, being recorded at existing monitors in California. Margot Perez-Sullivan, a spokeswoman at the EPA's regional headquarters in San Francisco, said the agency's written statement would stand on its own.

Critics said the public needs more information. "It's disappointing," said Bill Magavern, director of Sierra Club California. "I have a strong suspicion that EPA is being silenced by those in the federal government who don't want anything to stand in the way of a nuclear power expansion in this country, heavily subsidized by taxpayer money."

3. They are liars
The government only wants you to be afraid of their "terror" threats, and their "epidemics.

I analyze it like this: If they are telling you to be afraid; everything is cool. If they are telling you everything is cool; time to be afraid.

5. "There is no danger from fallout on the West Coast".
"Pay no attention to the fact that we are making preparations for fallout on the West Coast".

Nobody, absolutely nobody connected with the nuclear industry or government, can be trusted to dissiminate truthful information during a nuclear crisis.

Idiots.

7. The lack of disclosure of information gathered by the EPA is unacceptable

you know what folks, i'm beginning to think Obama might not be "our guy". Why all the secrets? Why is the DEA still raiding medical marijuana clinics? Why are we in two wars we can't afford - is there a point to either? Why can't we have health care like Canada or the UK? Why do billionaires get tax breaks on already insanely low rates?

Our society is at a breaking point. I'm going to stand with the truth seekers and the peace makers.

As far as the EPA - they are just not on our side. Nobody is. It's all to protect corporations from here on out until - or if - we decide we've had enough.

He could tell them to get honest but he pushes nuke power, not people power. I'll vote for Sanders, write-in if needed.
