Hyperbole And A Half: This is why I'll never be an adult..
I suspect this describes a fair percentage of DUnauts, I know I see myself in it.

Uncomfortable and hilarious at the same time.

12. I *just* got turned on to this blog yesterday..
my 9 yr old and i had just read the moving w/dogs post and cracked up...

later that day i asked her to do something for her brother & herself... I started laughing, realizing she was the 'helper dog' in our pack! ;)

After reading this one the moving post is even funnier in retrospect. Moving is a *very* adult thing.

:toast:

ETA: My dogs were deciding whether or not to have me involuntarily committed when I read the "moving with dogs" post, my sides still hurt the next day.

17. Thanks...
I have one asleep or nearly so in my lap and the other trying to jam her nose under my butt while she's asleep. They're sweet but kind of noisy and hyper when alerted, nothing is going to sneak up on us. :)

:hi:

6. An all-time favorite.
My daughter and I often toss bits from that back and forth to illustrate our current status, i.e., "Clean ALL the things?!?" and "Do the motherf*cking laundry like an ADULT!"

Hysterical. Love the new one about moving with dogs, too. :D

13. "Clean ALL the things" has become a running gag among my friends
"I need to straighten the place up a bit before I can have guests over."
"How bad?"
"I need to clean all the things."
"Ow. Next week, then?"

"Dude, you look like you're on a mission."
"Hell yes. Soon as I get home I am going to clean the things. I am going to clean all the things."
"(starts humming Eye of the Tiger)"

I don't know why that line is hilarious, but it is.

15. It's the whole context, including the drawings.
The drawings are hysterical and perfect, and the one for cleaning "ALL the things" is the epitomy of manic, maniac zeal. From that blog post, this is my absolute favorite:

10. I see it as being more of an innate state of some people..
It may well limit one's opportunities and indeed lead to becoming or being unloved but it isn't the lack of opportunity or love that causes this state in most cases.

ADD people are usually that way from a very early age, infancy in many cases, I know I certainly can't remember ever being anything else and I had a fairly decent childhood in most respects.

16. You can say that again.
I can picture the scene so vividly and once again, her drawings were absolute perfection and she had me rolling with laughter.

18. just for that, I got up and cleaned the toilet
Being an adult would be easier if I was not trying to save the world on top of everything else.

Not only that, but I think being single means at least 1/3 more work, because I have to do it all - all the cooking, all the dishwashing, all the housecleaning, all the grocery shopping, all the laundry, all the home repairs, all the bill paying, all the grass cutting, all the snow shovelling, all the pet care, etc. If I had a spouse or s/o it would be less work for both of us, because it takes almost as much time to grocery shop for one as it does for two, and because we would not have two sets of utility bills and mortgage payments to make (okay that is not true for my niece who is underwater on her house). Same with meals, since I often cook meals for two and then just refrigerate it for tomorrow, and often the next day.

my wife left me this year and i notice that both of us have less time for our kid now because we each have our own place and each have to do the same bullshit without dividing tasks like you said....
