7 year old sells origami for Japan relief
a snippet of a very nice story:

"The story is-if you make 1,000 cranes, you get to make a wish and that wish will come true," Debbie said.

"I want to make a wish...for Japan to be okay," William added.

3. That is sweet! I was thinking of DU making cranes. I made so many for the Ribbon project
(tying a "ribbon" around the Pentagon for the anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki) that I could fold them in my sleep.

Maybe some of us could do this...?

Maybe someone could post the story of Sadako?

We had a small version of this monument in the park near the White House, and covered it with cranes.

5. Good for them. I lived in Saitama prefecture (incorrectly called a town in the story)
My in-laws live there. Thankfully, it made it through the quake all right.
