Just saw a slide that said Libya taxes oil at 98%.
Is this a factor for our involvement? If government changes and lowers taxes how will you view our involvement?

1. Link please.
Taxes who for what?

We buy very very little of their oil. Italy buys 30% - the rest goes to other European countries and China.

2. Oil is the reason, but I don't think taxes have anything to do with it.

6. Would the world bodies care if the oil was cheaply taxed.
Meaning, the oil corps would make much larger profits. Would they allow the cart to be upset, much like Bahrain.

7. It's called nationalized oil, and all the big states do it.

10. Oh, that. I've been insisting on that for years.
Energy is too vital to the national security and economy to be left in greedy, capricious, "private" hands.
