1. Everyone knows Obama got the Nobel Peace Prize for one reason and one reason only.
He's not Bush.

46. Yeah, Bush voted for the patriotic act
kept gitmo open, and launched an unprovoked war on people who were no threat to us but happened to sit on a lot of oil.

Whereas Obama . . . has a much nicer tan.

8. Yes. The UN.
If we want to belong, we are obligated to do what the UN decides to do.

Or we could drop out of the UN.

Are they not obligated to do what the UN decides to do?

9. By not abstaining in the UN we are obligated by treaty to act.
The US could've shocked the world and abstained but then the other states probably would've decided to do it half-assed if at all.

26. Uhhhh...not ALL women are hetero, ya know.
I think weapons designed by women would be incapacitating but not lethal, and the containers would be round shaped.

Not, all, but some. Of course, in porn movies, ALL women just crave wiener shaped things. In real life, that's just not the case.

38. I wish I still had my drawings from my teen years.
Edited on Mon Mar-21-11 07:47 AM by Jamastiene
Unfortunately, those were lost when I moved last time.

Uhm, I think I remember right. Let me see. Only one of my drawings of weapons that I would make was shaped like a weenie. It was Jama's All Purpose Chastity Belt for Men, great for keeping HIM only interested in the owner of the key. Only part of it was phallic shaped. I had the S&M culture in mind when I invented it.

Ok, so I'll admit it. Half my "weapons" could easily have doubled as sex toys. I didn't realize that at the time, but now that I think about it.

In any case, I love weapons, especially primitive homemade weapons. Not all of my designs were phallic in shape though. :P

17. So if the Libyan rebels who asked for protection did not receive it,
would you be asking why we were allowing a tyrant to commit genocide? I honestly don't understand why support here for an uprising has turned into a rally to essentially allow the dictator who is massacring them to continue to do so.

19. How much does on Tomahawk missle cost ?
yesterday I march in an end the war march and passed by young men waiting for the bus.

I told them to join us, it is your future. I also told them when I went to college in 1985 it only cost me 149.00 a semester at a CA state college and that allowed me 16 units.

I told them see what you are missing? You have grow up with these stupid wars that are destroying our county.

So I ask what does one tomahawk missile cost?

21. Each: $756,000 + an inexpensive college education + homes for the homeless + food for the hungry +
money for a fair health care system ....... it goes on and on and on.

As an aside: My son is leaving for college in August. NOT our exclusive State University (The Harvard of the Midwest, supposedly) and is one of the least inexpensive State Universities.... $90,000 for 4 years. That doesn't include anything but tuition, room and board. It will be over $100,000 by the time he graduates. Then we have graduate school. I won't even go into the costs of that! I'm beginning to think the trades really ARE the way to go. Be a plumber, a welder, or a carpenter. You can always make a living with a trade and it's a hell of a LOT cheaper than a college education and you MIGHT be able to buy a home and have a life.

45. Let's talk about Alfred Nobel -
Edited on Mon Mar-21-11 09:29 AM by TBF
"Alfred Bernhard Nobel (21 October 1833 – 10 December 1896) was a Swedish chemist, engineer, innovator, and armaments manufacturer. He is the inventor of dynamite. Nobel also owned Bofors, which he had redirected from its previous role as primarily an iron and steel producer to a major manufacturer of cannon and other armaments. Nobel held 355 different patents, dynamite being the most famous. In his last will, he used his enormous fortune to institute the Nobel Prizes. The synthetic element nobelium was named after him.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfred_Nobel

The fact that it is called "Peace" prize is an oxymoron, but good 'ole Alfred would probably like Mr. Obama.
