Pence: Defunding Planned Parenthood more important than aid to poor women and children
WASHINGTON – Republican-led efforts to defund Planned Parenthood over its abortion services are complicated by an awkward fact: The bill's chief sponsor admits that Title X funding provides "important" aid to poor women and children.

Yet Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) pushed through a measure in the House to cut off all $317 million in Title X funding to Planned Parenthood and all abortion providers, even though the money by law must be used on services other than abortion. Supporters argue that money is fungible, and therefore any federal funds for such groups are effectively abetting abortion care.

4. Unfortunately the crazies are eating the US from the inside out.
Instead of 'women and children first' it's 'kill, maim and starve women and children first' here in the ol' USA. By 2013 the damage in Ohio will be done. Many other states are headed for the toilet with us. I don't think that Obama actually looks at the damage that is being done from the bottom up. Our media has ceded the power to the crazies already and they are working their magic.

5. I'm quite sure republicans would prefer to do both.
1/ stop aid to hungry women and children
2/ defund women's health care

6. ...........
The voices of the ones that truly care
Are drowned out by the drum beats from the right
The Regressive Party really hate women and children
I wonder how they can look their wives, mothers, and children in the eye.
This country will slide to the bottom before I die

8. The wives are a safe lay and the children are proof they
can get it up, get it in and get it off.

You are assuming they have empathy and are capable of actually loving someone other than themselves and their money.

7. Voting For Pence's Measure Should Be A Firing Offense
Voting for Pence's bill to de-fund Planned parenthood should be a firing measure, an unforgivable offense remediable only by throwing the congress-critter who voted for it out of office at the next election. Unfortunately, the voters in his district and all too many more "red" district are likely to reward him and his ilk by giving them another term in office.
