Caution: Zombies Ahead road sign

"FORT MILL -- Caution: Zombies ahead?

"Two electronic road signs on S.C. 160 near the York-Lancaster county lines were apparently tampered with sometime before 4 a.m. Sunday, said Lance Cpl. Billy Elder of the Highway Patrol.

"One sign read "Zombies Ahead" and rotated to "Watch for Hunters." On the other side of the road, another sign read "Be alert for Tanks."

1. What impresses me most about this is that police and state officials were able to
discuss a prank without going off into a tangent about terrorism and public safety and think-of-the-children and so on... :)

6. There's apparently a long history of people doing this
Sent the link to my son and he came back with a reddit search showing two years worth of examples:

7. Zombies in Boulder a week ago
Guess they're on the move ...

When asked about the signs, Boulder spokeswoman Jody Jacobson said, "The city has received no reports of zombies."

9. Instead of the "witty alerts"
(which is already old news, Austin did it first over a year ago), these "clever" guys should be putting up messages such as "they are watching you" or "fox news lies" or "we are an empire" or "we occupy" or "we are wire tapping you", etc.
