11. Exactly.
I remember reading in National Geographic back in the 1980s about her research.

14. Well, technically that wouldn't be called "war"
along the same lines as human war.

Wolves do not typically wage war on members of their own species like humans do.

13. True or False: "Wars" in nature and modern wars are unrelated...
Posing organized conflicts in nature as a metaphor for wars of civilization is a common form of apology for the latter. The generals who plan, the politicians who approve, the warriors who kill (lately by mashing buttons at a CIA video-game console) are not monkeys. They are not giving involuntary expression to their monkey-nature.

16. War is not a human condition.
For most people, throughout history, war is an aberration. Most people never experience war first hand. Wars are noted throughout history precisely because they are aberrations and therefore notable. If they were a part of the human condition we, all of humanity, would be constantly at war and wars would be no more newsworthy than having breakfast.

Making war a sort of unavoidable biological function is like saying we're all doomed to to be bank robbers or pianists because we have the nascent abilities necessary to perform those functions.
