Components of the bill

- Individuals/families making less than $43,320/$88,200 per year will qualify for government subsidies to help purchase health insurance

- All individuals must have health insurance or face a government fine; all large (over 50 employees) employers must offer health insurance to employees or pay a fine

Personally, with all the problems we're experiencing now, I would have been pissed if Obama spent his time going after BushCo. Pelosi and Senator Clinton should have come together to address Bush years ago.

That's what a Department of Justice is for. Instead of going after Bush and Cheney and their treasonous warmongering psycho cronies, Attorney General Holder keeps Leura Canary in office. The US Attorney in Alabama who railroaded Gov. Don Siegelman, Canary and her husband are cronies of Karl Rove.

Congress would be clogged by the investigation, Pubbies would use it as a distraction just like they use everything else in order to NOT get things done. It would have been a four-year circus, because you know they wouldn't have let anything be settled during the Obama administration. That might have left him with time to get something accomplished.

I'm not at all happy that BushCo weren't prosecuted, but that show hasn't closed yet. It has been hard enough to get anything done without the clowns being handed a script.

The prez can walk and chew gum at the same time.

The president can't prosecute anyone.

Congress and the courts would be immobilized. And if the actions themselves didn't do the trick, the Pubbies would make sure they added enough mud to the water.

He could give the go-ahead if he wanted to.

The courts could handle it - that's what they're for - and if we let these criminals walk, the next will be worse.

Well that show has indeed closed, and as for getting stuff done, it would have been a whole hell of a lot easier to do many real "progressive" things had the groundwork been layed for making clear the corruption that was BushCo.

the BP Gulf oil spill, arguably the largest environmental disaster in the history of the world

the Obama admin assisted BP in coverup and lowballing the amount of the spill and assisted in promoting BP company talking points and the suppression of the press and scientists. the Obama "justice" dept has not pursued any meaningful criminal prosecution of BP executives or the company.
