Made my day!! They had two teller windows open and there was a mother and daughter at the other teller and they were closing their accounts as well!!! We stood their and talked for a few seconds about how shitty Chase is and how much better it is at the credit union!!!!Was an awesome moment! Credit Union FTW!!!

1. Congrats!
I felt that way when I closed my Wells Fargo accounts 5 years ago. What a relief!

A credit union is the way to go.

3. Thanks !!!
Think I just convinced one of my co-workers to close his Chase acct as well. He didn't know he was able to open an acct at a credit union. I told him the one I bank with allows anyone who lives, works, attends school or worships in any central Florida county to open an acct.

McCoy Federal Credit Union is awesome!!!

4. Good job! Keep preaching, brother! Presenting the positives always works better
than pointing out the negatives, in my experience. Your excitement for McCoy Federal Credit Union will be contagious! Carry on!

6. I quit Bank of America aftert they stole a bunch of my money
BofA hiked rates and did not inform me as required by law, then a check bounced because they had lowered my balance, so I got hit with huge penalties ... finally, they had to give it all back and I closed my relationship with them.

7. This makes me feel good in a strange way. Let me explain:
Just before my husband died two years ago, we took a trip to France, taking our daughter with us. The trip was great, I'm so glad we went because we had talked about doing it for years. My husband and I split the costs on our credit cards with the intent of paying it off as the coming year progressed.
My husband had a Chase acct. Mine was MBNA at the time. His card was in his own name.

He died 5 weeks after we got home, I called Chase to close out the account. You would not believe the load of BS they gave me. The balance was about $2000.00, all from the trip. I asked for an exact balance to pay it off. I knew all bills were up to date and posted and wanted to rid myself of what I thought was an obligation. I will never forget the hassle they gave me. Wanted all kinds of information from me including a copy of his death certificate. At the time, I was unaware that I had no liability on this account and could have let it default upon death.

The person to whom I spoke was rude, abrupt. Her demands were ridiculous.
I finally said," if you do not give me the balance as of 1 week from this call, I will not pay this bill.
I finally got the figure.

Two weeks after I paid the bill, I was advised by my estate lawyer that I did not have to pay the bill. My banker said the same thing. I was so intimidated and angry at the time, I never thought to check into something like that.

I will never do business with Chase, they were rude and insensitive.

Until my current(sorry, B of A) raises my interest rate on my CC, I will stick with them. I have not changed my CC yet because B of A seems to think I'm OK at 9.25% and my local bank is higher. As soon as B of A raises my rate, I will go local.
Got to be on your toes folks. Card only in your name, only you are responsible, not your spouse.

There is no reason for me to do any business with a non-local bank but at the moment, the difference is dollars makes me stick with B of A.
My savings is local---what is left of it---and will stay so. Guess what, my local banker knows my name!!!
