US Inflation On Track To Hit 8.3% In 2011
BTW, if our wages don't go up by 8.3%, we get poorer. Our living standards will decline unless wages keep pace!

Chasing all the fluttering glow in the dark swans over the past month has put some of the key issues facing the US economy on the backburner. But just like today's surging inflation update in the UK confirmed, there is only so long that any given crisis can be used a distraction from the real problems at hand. And here is where we stand: per a quick check with the recently released and constantly updated MIT billion price project, which just happens to correlate 93% with the CPI, 2011 inflation in the US is trending at an 8.3% annual rate of increase.

Way to go, Ben. Keep printing those dollars!

1. Bah! There's no inflation in the US

it's just that the price of food seems to be going up 50% year over year.

Next year, I'm losing weight whether I need to or feel like it or not.

3. It probably won't be that high
But real inflation will likely be higher than CPI. Of course, core inflation, which the FED uses to adjust monetary policy, will remain very low for the foreseeable future.

4. We can fix that - just delete some high demand goods from the index, and VOILA!
Inflation is beat. :sarcasm:
