No timeline for Libya War to End says Gates
War without end: US sees no 'timeline' for Libya operation

CAIRO - US Defence Secretary Robert Gates said on Wednesday there was no "timeline" for when UN-backed military operations in Libya would end, and that the outcome of the conflict remained unclear.

Speaking during a visit to Cairo, Gates said the UN Security Council resolution that authorised a no-fly zone was "not time-limited" and that it was unrealistic to expect military action to be over in a matter of weeks.

"But I think no one was under any illusions that this would be an operation that would last one week, or two weeks, or three weeks."

Get ready for another long war.

4. Remember he's in charge of the troops, so guess he must know
what the straight scoop is for the military. (in the words of Mr. Mom: 220, 221 whatever it takes.)

10. Gates does not appear to agree with POTUS Obama nor SoS Clinton
This was in the media before the political decision was made.

I had no idea how fierce and how involved the USA would be in the intial attacks. Gates warned that to establish a NFZ would entail war.

Things are bad when a slimy Iran-Contra figure makes more sense than a democratic WH (but Gates was chosen by Obama as SoD).

Gadaffii would have been gone sooner or somewhat later and with much less bloodshed, damage, and enduring grudges without the aggression led by the USA, France, and UK. Russia, China, Brazil, played the USA for fools in the UN and Germany was wise.

What a stupid move. Go USA!! Blow shit up froma safe distance.
