WRIGHTSTOWN — Gov. Scott Walker continued to implore counties, communities and school districts to require employees — if needed — to increase health care contributions beyond those asked of state workers.

During a stop Thursday at Coating Excellence International in Wrightstown, Walker acknowledged that under his plan, not all municipalities would see savings greater than the amount the state is cutting in local and transportation aids.
....................

According to Walker's projections, of the 24 communities that make up Brown County, only three — Green Bay, Denmark and Wrightstown — would come out ahead if pension and health care contributions from public employees increased to 5.8 percent and 12.6 percent of annual salaries, respectively.
.......................

To make up for the reduced state aid, Walker said municipalities could increase the amount their employees pay for healthcare even higher.

"For example, you can still have places that went to 15 or even 18 (percent) and still be below where the average middle class taxpayer in this state is paying: 20 percent of their health care," he said. "We don't mandate what the amount is; we give them the tools to do that."...............

5. This is the reason he wanted to get rid of collective bargaining
It was always on behalf of the municipalities who are about to have their state funds chopped big time and will need to cut a whole lot of spending.

Maybe now it will begin to make sense why he wanted to get rid of collective bargaining when the state will be ok for this upcoming year, although next year will be a mess with a 3 billion hole.
