This is how I KNOW there is no looming nuclear crisis
I turned on the news on my car radio to hear a report that a movie about a wimpy kid is #1. This morning cable news lead with a story about the death of a state trooper. Then the newscasters moved on the giggle about another story. If a nuclear crisis was pending every channel would be devoting substantial resources and time to the story.

:sarcasm:

4. I'd expect Princess Di death level attention for a story like this...Remember how every
station focused on the story for days?

3. Oh, what is wrong with you.
A nuclear crisis is trivial. Lindsay Lohan is now to be called just Lindsay, no last name, and is fighting to clear her good name in court against theft charges. Charlie Sheen is going on a speaking/ranting tour, and Liz Taylor may have left millions of dollars worth of jewelry and some children unhappy with the terms of her will.

Don't you know what is important?

(MORE sarcasm).

7. 20 years from now, there will likely be a spike in thyroid cancer cases
but such a small one that you'll have to look for it to find it.

That's what they're not telling people. However, taking KI pills is not the answer, either, since they're not risk free. The risk of exposure to the trace amounts of radioactive iodine in the US is much lower than the risk in self dosing with KI.

For now.

Unfortunately, the crisis is continuing to escalate. Reading offshore news is essential at this point if you want to watch it. Corporate news is trying to keep us placid and obedient.

11. i rely on DU
and endless links. i do check on msnbc, cnn, cspan, etc fairly often. and local sources like the daily breeze and news & observer. local tv news drives me batty with the fake banter and raised eyebrows.
