Woof from the roof
He sits there every day, sometimes for hours, up there on the roof, posed in a perfect sitting position, observing the neighborhood like it’s his kingdom. Maybe it is. After all, how many roof-sitting dogs do you see?

His name is Dubi, which means “my bear” in Hebrew, according to his owner, J.D. Pickett of west Greeley. Dubi is part black lab, part boxer and part roof climber.

At least he'd put paid to the squirrels -- those damn roof rats.

3. He's an alpha -
And that's part of his - to guard the pack and den. Wolves and coyotes will do the same thing.

4. Thanks for sharing. This put a smile on my face.
There is a kind of dog, a beagle-ish hound, called a tree-walker that enjoys climbing.

6. Boxers are known to climb. They use their feet much more than most breeds.
Thus the name.
My grandmother had a Kerry Blue Terrier which would climb the apple trees and "fetch" the apples.
He got up onto the wide branches via a short step ladder.

5. My house is
very old, with "new" additions having been built on. This includes what had been a large woodshed. Hence, the roof is multi-level (and not pleasant to replace six years ago).

A few of our larger dogs are able to get up on the lowest level of roof by climbing onto a dog house and stepping up a couple feet. From there, they can easily access the next level.

They have surprised people who come up our driveway.

7. There's a restaurant outside Denver
called The Fort. It's an adobe building (the largest in the state, I think), built in long sections, mostly one or two stories. Years ago, the restaurant had a resident dog who used to go up on the roof and roam all along it watching the customers.

The dog was a feature of the place. It was always amusing to see it up there.

"These Jindos are on top of guarding their master's home in Los Angeles' Koreatown. Since the mid 1980's, Korean Americans have been bringing Jindos from Korea."

I am on my second Jindo- they are AMAZING dogs.

EXTREMELY vigilant guard dogs; independent thinkers
and funny as hell. They have a great sense of humor
and are DEEPLy devoted to their masters.

They feel like they can guard more effectively from a higher
viewpoint.
The Koreans call them the "Cat Dog" for many reasons.
They have the best qualities of both Cats and Dogs.
I LOVE my Jindo!~
