1. wow - people need to get out more
and if someone's ego is so fragile that they need a made up girlfriend to give them confidence, then maybe it's better for woman kind that these guys stay behind their computers.

11. My nephew attends "cyber school".......
he's a sophomore. When he announced in 8th grade that this is what he was going to do, his uncles asked him who he would go to the prom with, their answer "an inflatable doll."

I'm a teacher, and I really had doubts about him attending cyber school. One major reason was the lack of interaction with others. However, my nephew is a determined kid. His reason for attending was for him to be able to improve his golf game. Which he has, and won the City Championship this past fall. He is able in good weather, to get to the golf course early in the morning, go home, attend school, go out in the late afternoon to the driving range, come home do his homework and repeat.
He is doing well academically and athletically.

17. glad to hear it!
Hopefully he'll (in the future) want to go out with a real girl and not some imaginary girlfriend as in the subject of the OP. I think that is really sad.

26. So, is it fair that other student golfers
have to get up to be at school by 8 and stay there all day and then practice?

I don't think that any high schooler that doesn't actually attend a high school should be able to participate in any athletics.

Sorry, just my opinion.

30. No need to apologize.....
Since charter schools are funded by local school boards, all charter students have the right to participate in any and all extracurricular activities. The courts have ruled on that.

I would LOVE to stay at home at work in my own office in my jammies, but it's not fair to those that have to wake up with an alarm clock, hit the shower, dress to the nines and battle traffic.

It's not fair to the kids that have to do the same;

But hey, if your kid is that good, have him drop out of "school" and try to get on the pro tour.

Does your son arise at 7 a.m. every morning and attend school classes until at least 2 p.m.?

If you choose to homeschool your child, you shouldn't expect that child to be allowed to participate on a PUBLIC SCHOOL TEAM. It's just not fair.

You made the choice.....

They get cute adorable texts and facebook posts but no real sex?

Wouldn't the priorities for a young man be the exact opposite?

14. Was it a Van Halen video where the young man called a sex line
& the sexy voice at the other end was an overweight, middle aged woman ironing, while she talked naughty? I don't remember who made the vid, but it was funny.

25. i couldn't agree with you more
on this. a demand for men/boys to only be seen as in it for sex, does not behoove males, nor is it even close to reality... but another constantly fed by media and society and culture as a whole.

same for female in another thread that got moved to lounge. women want the bad boys, not nice guys. regardless of it being blatantly wrong, we here this constantly

5. Sounds like a new cottage industry for stay-at-home moms: finish raising someone
else's kid while you raise your own. And the belief that the subscribers won't want/attempt sex chat is touchingly naive.

btw, will lesbians be allowed to sign up for virtual girlfriends?

12. Your post reminds me of the old Aerosmith video...
In which a young man is calling a phone sex line and you hear a sexy voice on a phone... then you see a disheveled woman with a baby standing at an ironing board in an equally disheveled room... it also reminds me of the ever-popular picture of your basic InterTube poster...

I consider this where I have the edge... I spent so much time in college and community theatre that I can't think of any situation without concerning myself with blocking, lines, cues, wardrobe, business, and props!

I'm just plain cynical I guess.

19. Actually, the OP made me think of an old Beavis & Butthead episode where they
call a phone sex line and the woman working it is a mom in curlers doing her ironing in a housecoat.

It was clear he prefered porn to real sex, but he didn't think it was cheating... even though he made excuses so he didn't have to do her!

The cyber girlfriend fills a relationship need that he's not able to find in real life.

It's not contemptible. It's pitiable and sad.

friends, family. it is not for self it is for expression. outward, not inward. creating a false friend is for show.
