OSHA Ramps Up Online Training: Describes employer responsibilities & how to file complaints

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced today that it is seeking applications from organizations to provide 10- or 30-hour online OSHA Outreach Training Program courses in the construction, general and maritime industries. The program trains workers on their rights, describes employer responsibilities, explains how to file a complaint and describes work-related hazards.

The Outreach Training Program, a voluntary participation information resource, trains workers about occupational safety and health. More than 2.2 million students have received training through this program during the past three years.

Under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, employers are responsible for providing safe and healthful workplaces for their employees. OSHA's role is to assure these conditions for America's working men and women by setting and enforcing standards, and providing training, education and assistance.
