Santorum: Abortion is slowly killing Social Security
Source: Raw Story

WASHINGTON – Long-shot Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum said Tuesday that America's "abortion culture" is harming Social Security, reviving an ages-old argument largely confined to the fringe.

"The Social Security system, in my opinion, is a flawed design, period," Santorum, a former Pennsylvania senator, told the New Hampshire station WEZS Radio. "But having said that, the design would work a lot better if we had stable demographic trends."

The problem, Santorum explained, is that "we don't have enough workers to support the retirees," because "a third of all the young people in America are not in America today because of abortion."

2. I honestly believe Santorum has cheese whiz for brains. I know he is pandering,
but what prevents him from staring up and drowning during rainstorms?

3. That third would all be unemployed by today's employment
figures.

These clowns give themselves away, to me. They seem to enjoy making people suffer, (in so many ways) because that is the most extreme aspect of power. It is not just about controlling people and telling them what they can and can't do, it is about the ability to make them suffer, and the more extreme, the greater their sense of power.

So, he's just missing the larger number of people he could help to disenfranchise, starve and despise for their need as he blames them solely for their circumstance. Population issues be damned, there is just not enough destitution these days!

4. Ever since I can remember,
driving north on Hwy. 41 in WI from Milwaukee to Oshkosh there is a billboard that reads something like "53 million Americans will never pay into social security". It wasn't until I was about 12 or 13 that I realized what it meant and even at that early of an age I thought it was absolutely ludicrous. Leave it to Santorum to start that BS meme again.

5. Since the RW crazies want to kill Social Security anyway
why are they worrying their slimy little heads about this non-issue?

7. But abortion *could have* spared the world Rick Santorum
sadly it was illegal in most places at the time of his birth. I think giving up Social Security for a world no longer plagued by Rick Santorums is a trade off any conscientious person would have to make.

9. Get the American People back to work in decent jobs so they
can pay their SS taxes and if they so choose have babies.

How much has been lost because millions unemployed cannot
pay taxes.

10. The design would also work better if . . .
Every dollar of earnings was subject to social security withholding, instead of being capped so that working class stiffs bore the heaviest burden of funding the program. How about it, Mr. Santorum? You and your wealthy pals want to help pull the cart instead of sitting in it, bitching about how slow things are going?
