Why are people scared of terms like class war?
Why aren't the democrats out there hammering this single point home: There is a real class warfare in America and the working and middle classes are getting slaughtered. The working and middle classes are barely putting up a fight and anyone who dares to point out that fact are derided as traitors who hate America. I'm just going to say it, there is real and dangerous class warfare in American and we don't start fighting back, then in a few decades there may not be a middle class.

1. Most Dems don't have the gusto to withstand the onslaught of the RW attacks
It is most ironic, since the RW kooks often declare that the left is waging class warfare, when in fact, they are the cause of it.

Income distribution was more even during the more "liberal" ear of Wilson to Carter. When Reagan came into town, class warfare become painfully apparent. This war has continued on for 3 decades with the uber rich capturing most of the labor productivity gains.

3. I'll be honest I'll fight class warfare.
They started it, but we better make damn sure they don't win it. If they do you can say goodbye to even the pretense of democracy.

6. I believe that we are in the process of saying good bye to democracy
and ushering in an era of corporate/statist plutocracy where class antagonism will only thrive more.

2. I'm sorry, but there is no middle class, just higher paid workers who are in debt.

4. The mythical American Middle Class gets confused about its position
They identify more with the Ruling Class than the actual Working Class they belong to

It's very, very bizarre

5. Your right.
I really think middle-class is now just a term used by the ruling elite to divide the working class against itself. The working class must unite and fight back.

7. Exactly - we have no middle class. There are the .5% who own everything,
and everyone else.

The middle class gets screwed at tax time
Those who are waging this class don't. I think that classification should help!

9. That's the problem.
As long as people are ignorant or apathetic we are going to lose this war and lose it bad.

11. Maybe its just because I am a socialist
but I find that attitude to go very dangerous to the interests of the workers. Whether you like it or not, it is happening and if the socialists are the only ones talking about it and trying to fight for the workers than maybe the workers should really think about why they dislike it.

16. I think workers in this country know which side is up, which is why
Wisconsin and Ohio have been the sites of protests by the people who live there. Others came in to help, from all over, because they know they could be next. Some may be socialists, I don't think it was a requirement to state your party in order to participate in helping the workers try to keep their benefits.

I find attitudes that use veiled threats to be dangerous to the good of this country. Don't discount the workers of the USA, their livelihoods are on the line. The socialists aren't the only ones talking about it.

12. Well to be optimistic, less and less people are........
scared of using the term. I hear it more and more. And not just on DU. It's got to become popular again before the pols will start using the term though. They're always behind the curve.

18. This sign says it all . . .

When they attack the middle class, it's status quo. . . when the middle class fights back, it's war.

19. Because if you frame the debate that way
The rich lose. So it's taboo to call out the class war.

20. I think it brings up unfortunate mental images of the French Revolution.
You know, pitchforks, torches, guillotines, all that stuff that people like the Kook Brothers are deathly afraid of. For good reason, I might add.
