Fatcat at the door of the bank demanding to be let in before banking hours.
Had to go the ATM this am. Bank is small--they don't have one that you can drive through and you actually have to get out of your car and walk up to the front door of the bank.

I get up there and there is this beautiful cat sitting at the front door of the bank. Meowing. Scratching on the door. It is a few minutes before 8 am and the bank isn't open yet.

He wanders over to the ATM and lets me scratch his head, then he walks back to the front door to carry on his caterwauling.

In a minute or two when the bank opens--the bank doors are grandly opened for the cat. He is greeted by affection and I can see through the glass doors that he is is being escorted to untold riches--more than likely judging by his fur coat and his expectancy, it included a meal.

It was a nice way to start the day.

1. This post is SO not what I expected.
I clicked on it thinking, "Elitism! Class preference!"

Thanks for the laugh.

2. I agree. Very nice way.
Small bank, huh? If they treat cats like that I hope they treat their customers nicely, too. Can't imagine a BoA branch feeding a cat.

3. My wife reminds me that cats are the only domestic animal
that chose to come in from the wild. This cat clearly is playing three-dimensional chess with those bankers. First you get them to like you then you get them to feed you and then you take over their bank.

Smart kitty.

7. Reminds me of something my grandmother used to say
She was uneducated, but wise beyond measure, and loved kitty cats more than anyone I ever knew. She used to say "if cats had thumbs they could take over the world."

8. I noticed some feral cats living in my local big box hardware store.
I suppose some employee is feeding them.

12. people used to dump cats at the warehouse my DH used to work at.
And every one we could catch found great homes. DH brought home a week old kitten in a box - who is now lord of the house, several years later. He thinks of my son as his littermate.

16. They're eating the birds and mice in the garden center
Sometimes this doesn't work out too well...we had one cat at the Home Depot I used to work at that died on duty. Turns out we had some mice who chewed their way into the D-con, and the cat was catching and eating them before they died of it. Cats who eat enough poisoned mice will eventually die themselves.

The next five cats we had didn't suffer that fate--rather, people were catching and adopting them.

10. I love stories of Shop Kitties - we have a Garden Cat with his own FB page
Joey the Garden Cat. He's been featured on "Must Love Cats" and soon, "CBS Sunday Morning". There is a shipping store here that has a shop kitty - Pumpkin.
