Message to republicans: Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that the fewer people who have jobs,
or other income-even if it's Social Security or Unemployment Compensation-the less money is spent, thus decreasing business, profits and tax receipts all over the US. Not many unemployed people are going to buy a new car, or a house, or even eat in restaurants...
It seems to me if we had more money coming in-yes, I mean TAXES-we would not have to reduce the work force by cutting the number of teachers, office workers, cops and firefighters as we are doing all across our country.
But, hey, maybe I'm being too simplistic, or maybe I'm not seeing the whole picture. Is there some other reason you guys want to see so many Americans in poverty and with no future?

Could you explain it to me, if there is?

Thanks. I KNOW you guys love America as much as us Leftists do, at least you always SAY you do...

1. Things are proceeding exactly as planned...
The Republicans are working their long term plan: Cut taxes, reduce government, privatize everything possible. Of course, what the rank and file don't realize is that things will not return to those halcyon days they long for...when Dad could support the family while Mom stayed home and did the laundry and took care of the kids. No, they should look at the countries where the Republican dream is in full bloom...Latin America where income disparity is huge and growing. That is the future they can expect.

2. Greed is the only motivator for the GOP
And they are working as hard and as fast as they can to take it all down. Destroy and conquer is their plan.

One they have brought the country to its knees, they can reshape it anyway the rich want with democracy and compassion being the last things on their minds.

3. The republicans are like an irresponsible unemployed guy with three starving kids.
"I'll do anything - anything - to help you kids, as long as I don't have to get a job and bring any money into the family. Read my lips: NO NEW REVENUE. We just need to spend less on food!"
