Are there two people named "Herman Cain" running for President or something?

There's a guy named Herman Cain who recently told NewsMax this:

“I want people committed to the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States in my administration. I don’t have the time or the desire to worry about somebody or some faction that wants to impose shariah law on this nation. I believe in American laws in American courts.

“The First Amendment says everybody can practice whatever religion they choose. (Muslims) are free to practice their religion in the United States, just like all other legitimate religions. But they are not free to infuse their religious beliefs into our laws. We don’t do that in the United States, and if I’m president I’m going to work to keep it that way.”

But there's another guy named Herman Cain who told Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association that the US and the Constitution is:
“based on biblical principles, (and) I want to get back to those principles as president.”

What's going on here?

The country was 'founded' on Christian beliefs and practices and was part of the writing of the constitution.
Since then, no other religious teachings have been put into laws to accommodate that religions teachings.

Even then, only a few Christian beliefs held sway in the core values that they wanted in the Constitution.
If you read on what motivated the founders of the country, you can read how/what they believed and why.
Even then, there were many disagreements on what should be in the Constitution.

"christian beliefs" when it was not. Don't be the fly in the ointment.

an enlightened society that had little to do with Christianity (particularly as it's practiced in the USA today). Abortion laws and restrictions are based on religious belief only. School vouchers using taxpayer money for religious education was just declared 'AOK'. Ever hear about 'blue laws' put in place just for a certain religion? Anti-gay laws are all about religious belief.

I want to take my country back to having a purely secular government that respects all beliefs or none.

They form a consistent picture of a political whore with the intellectual depth of corn flakes.
