Political words, pithy statements, and sayings that you would like to see retired in 2011?
There are a number of words, statements and sayings that are uttered on a daily basis in the world of politics that I tire of hearing day in and day out.

Here are a few that I would like to see retired in 2011:

1. Throwing someone "under the bus"

2. "shellacking," as in the president experienced a "shellacking" in the midterm elections. Since he made that statement, the mainstream press has not let him forget it. They have been using that word "shellacking" ever since.

3. Referring to someone's "gotcha moment."

4. "The Professional Left"

5. "The Party of No" (Note: the Republicans were not the "party of no," they were the party of obstructionists. The Librul Media failed to make that clear!)

6. Proclaiming that "Americans want this or that," or making statements about what Americans want or what Americans voted for.

7. "Polls suggest or show..." thus and so...

8. "Man up!"

9. "Playing the race card"

10. "Obamabots"

11. "Class warfare"

12. Telling one to "grow some balls," or accusing one of not "having balls"...

----

That's all I have for now.

What are words or statements repeated in the political world that you would like to see retired in 2011?

2. Yeah, Sarah Palin has jumped the shark
She just keeps trying to outdo her last outrageous comment and it's just gotten tired and old. She's not even worth a yawn anymore. I went to The Huffingtonpost and Palin's picture was on there a dozen times with different crap she's said. They're trying their best to keep her alive. I can feel my eyes glazing over.

4. Proclaiming a piece of legislation that you disagree with as being
"unconstitutional," though you provide no constitutional basis or grounds for making the assertion, other than you heard Beck or Limbaugh say it.

16. My #1 "Nails On A Chalkboard" Saying Right Now...............
............"It is what it is."

I HATE that one. People say it like they're uttering something completely profound. Do they not realize they are using McWords? There's no content there. The words mean NOTHING. OF COURSE it is what it is. What ELSE would it be? Have you ever heard anyone say, "It is what it isn't"? Or, "It's NOT what it is"?

Ridiculous. And I hear it said like 78 times a day. Get rid of it. Forever. PLEASE.
