..JFK is president, but the first hours are a giant hit piece starring Pop Kennedy and his little boy Jack who fought in WII. Def. a piece of crap.
Papa is a stern controller of Jack’s win against Nixon-Yuck. - Papa didn’t have to put 1 voting machine per 300 people in Ohio to win. - Papa didn't have to have Bobby disqualifying voters in Florida for Jack to win.
Papa says “my hand is the same as the hand of God”. He probably would not have done so. Papa is portrayed as a blasphemer against the church and religion.
Early on he says “you can make people believe anything with money” to his sons.
Papa is a big fat appeaser. GOP wants you to think patriot act makes you safe.
Reality: JFK was a very strong anti-communist
The movie “really cares” about JFK which you can tell from the dramatic music when Papa Joe hears about his son’s PT boat being lost.
Pop “fixed it so Jack could get in the Navy”, that’s why he “feels guilty” when he thinks Jack may have died. “God won’t listen to me. I’ve sinned too much in the past”, Joe tells the priest at confession.
Papa sacrilege with the cross and his wife scene when they hear about Joe’s death. She says “we have to pray for him.” Papa raises a Christian cross and says he’ll never pray again. Bullcrap, even if he felt that way at the time.
JFK: “It was accidental I was a war hero. I sank my boat.” If he said it it was a joke, not the way the movie portrays it as dark and dastardly. Absurd!
