Leaked Police Document Upsets Local Man
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- The Overland Park Police Department is doing some damage control after a confidential internal memo was somehow leaked to the public.

The memo reportedly gave details about a theft ring at Oak Park Mall at 95th Street and Quivira Road.

In the memo, police listed a man named Fabian Bland as a "career criminal." It turns out that's not the case.

In a statement just released, Police Chief Jim Douglas said "We sincerely regret and apologize to the individuals that inadvertently appeared under the banner career criminals. This was inappropriate. The criminal intelligence information should not have been shared with non law enforcement agencies....

2. Notice the non-apology
"The criminal intelligence information should not have been shared with non law enforcement agencies..."
They are not apologizing for labeling him a career criminal, they are apologizing for releasing the information.
