House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, joined Congresswoman Corrine Brown, D-Jacksonville, and Kathy Castor, D-Tampa, to talk about proposed Medicare changes under the GOP plan proposed by Congressman Paul Ryan, R-WI, who chairs the House Budget Committee.
"They're voting to end Medicare as we know it," Pelosi said. "While they give big subsidies to big oil. Tens of billions of dollars to big oil while asking seniors to pay $6,000 or more than they do now. How could that be right?"
Ryan's budget plan would cut $6.2 trillion in government spending over the next decade, and change Medicare so that people over the age of 55 would get special payments to help them buy private insurance on a new Medicare exchange.
