http://www.cbs19.tv/story/14485145/immDon't let Texas become another California. It's the message the TEA Party Caucus Advisory Committee is sending to state legislators. Right now several immigration bills are stalled in committees. As CBS 19's Michele Reese explains, advocates for immigration reform don't want the bills killed.
Fleming is with the TEA party Caucus Advisory Committee to the legislature. She's worries five major immigration bills may never get to the floor for a vote. "Texans who have been elected to office are expected to stand up for U.S. citizens first, that's what we're asking them to do is to vote these bills out of committee and stop listening to special interest groups who want cheap labor,"Fleming said.
The immigration bills Fleming is talking about would restrict sanctuary cities, require computerized verification of immigration status for employment , track reporting costs of taxpayer funded services and benefits to illegals, and require documentation of legal status in order to engage in state - licensed occupations.
"We don't want jobs going to people who willingly broke the law we don't want social services to be cut to Texans who are U.S. citizens because we don't have people in the legislature who don't have the political courage to say no to people who have broken the rule of law," Fleming said.
Teabaggers never rest. "Enforcement", "enforcement", "enforcement". While the Progressive Caucus goes "comprehensive", "comprehensive", "comprehensive"."
