Cagey Obama Sets an Election Trap for Paul Ryan and the Koch Bros.
http://www.alternet.org/economy/150753/cagey_obama_sets_an_election_trap_for_paul_ryan_and_the_koch_bros.

"There's nothing serious about a plan that claims to reduce the deficit by spending a trillion dollars on tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires," Obama continued, as Ryan looked helpless on. "And I don't think there's anything courageous about asking for sacrifice from those who can least afford it and don't have any clout on Capitol Hill. That's not a vision of the America I know."

The Republican was clearly taken aback. "When the president reached out to ask us to attend his speech, we were expecting an olive branch," Ryan told McClatchy Newspapers. "Instead, his speech was excessively partisan, dramatically inaccurate, and hopelessly inadequate to address our fiscal crisis. What we heard today was not fiscal leadership from our commander-in-chief; we heard a political broadside from our campaigner-in-chief."

This is how I want to see this election won... I want a distinction between those who serve the rich vs those who serve the county, and what is best for all it's citizens....

2. Reid is going to bring the Ryan Budget to a vote in the Senate and then it's a fait accompli.

3. This is how it should be run now. The GOP took off the gloves. The Dems should take on their
challenge and form a unified front together with the President.

Like it or not, the polite politics of the past is over, thanks to Delay and Rove.

This is war, and the sooner we understand this fact, the quicker we'll be victorious and put those TeaBaggers, GOP, O'Reilly "Independents", Birthers, Afterbirthers, and miscellaneous other rightwing idiots, in their places - at the bottom of the totem where they'll do the least damage to this country.

4. election won, fine. would be better to see this attitude as a governing strategy put into ACTION
across the board. the best defense is a great offense that controls the dialog and the t erms.

5. Thanks a lot, this is the only way Obama and the Dems can get media coverage.
Good for him and the country to turn back this fascist tide. And alternet is always a great source. I found a lot there tonight.

6. Ryan wouldn't recognize fiscal leadership if it bit him in the ass.
As his response clearly shows.

17. Ryan is asking for a whole NEW set of tax cuts...
...paid for by gutting Medicare and Social Security.

Obama also signed on to the GOP tax cut extensions in his bargaining with the GOP. He got a reasonable amount out of them for it.

I understand a lot of DUers hate the idea of compromise, but the American people expect their leaders to actually get things done.

18. Strangely, the GOP seems to think Obama is a socialist satan...
...who gets nearly everything he wants. And this is "TRUE" in their opinion.

Just like Obama gives away the store is only "TRUE" in your opinion.

But please, if you want to keep holding your breath until you get absolutely everything you want immediately, don't let me stop you.

19. "reality based" = true for you.
you think you have the corner on "reality". just like a republican...oops, excuse me, a conservative democrat to be hypocritical and project their own faults onto others.

10. Simple message --
overarching theme. No more complicated than that...everything else(specific legislation, policy decisions) flow from this dichotomy. Make it black and white for those who need it...

Ryan is better for the rich than Obama, but not by much.
